We are expanding our team and are currently looking for a Head of Procurement (m/f/d):

Your Responsibilities

As Head of Procurement, you will be a part of VORN’s Operational team, who are responsible for the design, construction and commissioning of projects as well as the Operations of our Biomethane production plants. Our Business idea is to build, own and operate Biomethane plants, and the development area is currently Germany, Italy, Spain and Poland, while we are also exploring to enhance the business into other European countries. We work to ensure the VORN group's strategic goal for Biomethane production by 2028.
 
About the role
In your role, you cooperate with Engineering, Construction, Asset Management and Feedstock teams, but report to the COO. Over time additional staff will be needed in the team, and it will be up to you to form the team. The role will include following focus areas:
  • Strategic Procurement: Procurement of equipment, materials & services, implementation of category management & preferred supplier lists.
  • Project Procurement: Multi-contracting for greenfield projects in Italy, Spain, Germany & Poland, ensuring on-time deliveries.
  • Contract Management: Negotiation & implementation of project and framework contracts, definition of SLAs & performance indicators.
  • Processes & Controlling: Development of procurement reporting (MS Dynamics 365 BC, Power BI), implementation of efficient procurement processes.
  • Cost Optimization: Low-cost country sourcing, e-auctions, design-to-cost programs to reduce CAPEX costs, initiate alternative sourcing methods (e.g. parallel negotiations)
  • Business Development: Promote a sustainable procurement culture, contribute to shaping the company’s brand.
Other important tasks will be:
  • Together with Asset management develop a systematic, sustainable and cost-efficient procurement mind-set in the organisation
  • Participate in building and developing the company's brand

Your Profile

  • A Master degree in business, industrial or civil engineering, or a comparable field of studies
  • Proven experience of >5 years in strategical procurement, contract management and project procurement – an all-round talent in procurement and supply chain
  • Experience in the machine building industry, (power) plant construction or ideally in the biogas or a related field 
  • Experience in driving lean initiatives or DtC projects, managing engineering changes, and improving efficiency and effectiveness of an organization 
  • Technical understanding and comfort with numbers
  •  Structured, precise, and reliable working style
  • Good problem-solving, communication, and leadership abilities, with a forward-thinking mindset and commitment to innovation
  • As the position involves communication with customers, colleagues and partners, it is required that you can express yourself well in speech and writing primarily in English. German, Italian, Polish or Spanish would be regarded as a plus. 
  • Experience with ERP Systems and Procurement Reporting (MS Power BI). 
  • Good MS Office skills 
  • Ability to travel in Europe to both existing and new potential markets is required.
